With only 7 weeks to complete the project input from across the Nambucca Valley is required immediately. If you know someone who is involved in tourism that hasn't seen the survey form please refer them to this site or directly to Evolve Network Australia 02-65648843 for further information.
The forum is moving closer. Items on the agenda at this stage include:
* SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Strengths) analysis of tourism in the Nambucca Valley
* Market analysis - WHO visits the Nambucca and how do we cater to their needs? How could we do this better?
Would you like to see anything discussed at the forum? NOW is your chance to have it included...
For further information or to discuss the project please contact Evolve Network Australia on 02-65648843 or via e-mail info@evolvenetwork.com.au

nambucca Valley could do with a bif festival or 2 or 3. There is nothing for tourists to do or residents for that matter. Council and businesses should support the developement of activities that bring people to the area and entertainment for all. Bellingen has 3-4 festivals a year and they bring $$$ to the town. Even a big Market would be good. The ones in Macksville and Bowra are pathetic in comparison to Bello.
The reason people go to bellingen Markets is not just to buy things but to enjoy a day out in a very pleasent environment. They go for the excellent food and the entertainment. Locals go there for lunch and to meet friends and be entertained while eating with good music and performers. Another major factor in it's sucess is the childrens entertainment provided in a safe, relaxed setting. compare this to macks & bowra, the setting is not user friendly.
I used to be involved with Tallowood school. For 11 years the school put on the Handmade Houses Tour. It was always a sucessful fundraiser but very low budjet. I approched Mid north Tourism for support to advertise more widely and move on to a more professional level eg Glossy brochure, poster, souveniour booklet, accomodation packages etc but got no support at all. The tour was cancelled this year, lack of funds. A lost opportunity for tourism in this area as we got people from all over Australia on the tour.
